This Just In

My niece Danielle is getting married.  I'm so excited for her.  She just got engaged and hasn't set a date yet but is happy and planning.  I'll keep you posted and post pictures if she sends me any.

In other news, Vanessa has a baby daughter, just a month old today.  They named her Annabella Poppy.  Cute name.  She's sending pictures as well.    Watch for future updates

grandkids

Amanda asked for updated pictures of the kids here in Texas - so here are a few of my favorite most recent pictures.   They are all growing up so fast and developing such strong, individual personalities.  It seems they change almost weekly.  Tyson is in school now - we got to visit for grandparents day and read books with him.   And just look at all the teeth Kael has now!  Luckily he doesn't bite - that I know if at least.  Dani is moving around so well - I bet she'll be walking any day now.  She crawls and pulls up and is pretty proud of herself when she gets where she wants to be.  Soon the ironing board will have to be put back through the slats at the bottom of the stairs so she won't climb up and fall back down.

I'll try to be better with updates.  After all, if a grandma can't brag about her grandkids, then what fun is there in life?

Frog Vs Snake

Beezer found this really really long snake by the pool today.  It was wrestling with a really really big frog.  We watched for some time while the snake tried to pull the frog from the water, and then onto the rocks where it could eat it's catch.  After almost 30 min the snake gave up and dropped the frog back onto the rocks and retreated under the topmost rock.  I was concerned  about getting the body of the frog from that side of the pool.  But after a bit, the frog started moving.  I guess the frog won.  The last picture shows the frog on the rock and if you look closely, you can see the snake under the top rock.     Never a dull moment here in Texas!

The snake appears to be a Gulf Coast Ribbon Snake - not poison.  But really big for his breed.    Got up this morning and the frog is at the bottom of the pool.  Not moving.  Great!  Now what do I do?  I think I'll call Seth, the pool guy.  Dead stuff is yucky!

Kael was a pretty mess the other day - he was running around naked while he dried out from the pool and - oops.  It took Charlie, Tanna and the garden hose to get that boy smelling sweet again.  Then Charlie headed upstairs to work on the carpet.  Oh my.

Boo

OK, we're trying again.  Beezer picked "Boo" out at the pound today and we brought him home.  He's certainly bonded with Beezer and is just adorable.  2 1/2 years old - so not a puppy - and fairly small, but sturdy.  I think he can survive grand kids, and whatever else we throw at him.  He's a Stafford shire/boxer mix.    Sweet natured and tonight he learned to "sit".  It's a start.  He loves Danny too.  What more can we ask?
